The day I met Billy Graham, I was photographing back stage when he walked down the back steps. It so happened that a dozen or so Black ladies, dressed in white dresses had been assigned to hold a rope around the back steps to allow Mr. Graham to come down without a throng of people approaching him. I guess because I was wearing a media tag, no one asked me to move. When he stepped onto the bottom step, there I was. I looked into his deep blue eyes, and he raised his hand to shake mine. It was a fine moment for me as I so respected Mr. Graham and still do. The thing I remember most was his soft hands….He may live on a farm in North Carolina but those hands have scarcely held a hoe! Needless to say, I did not get a photo back stage of Mr. Graham that day.

This book tells about his life as a consultant to presidents. It’s a fine book of his influence over the years. The book is new!

I’m happy to say the Epiphone, (Owned by Gibson) sold this morning. There was much interest in it. I found out that a “Texan” was once played by Paul McCartney which gave the Epiphone- Texan, one similar to the one I sold, a boost in sales. ‘ Funny to me how those things are…. A famous person can definitely make a difference in the sale of a product.
The guy who bought the guitar looked to me like a former 70’s person who probably played in “ye old coffee house”. He wore a cute little hat with blue jeans and drove a van. There ya’ go…70’s kind of guy. He was very nice and excited to walk away with the Epiphone for $160. I was happy to walk away with the money too. ‘Win for both folks.

I came across this book about John Adams, one of the USA’s founding fathers. I thought somebody might like to read about his leadership. Check it out here…

The Atlanta Braves won the world champs in 1995. Fans from far and wide just hung tight with the Braves as they enjoyed their new-found notoriety for success. Videos were made of their success and of course baseball cards were offered. It will interesting to see how the Braves do this year. Check out the 1995 Braves Video.

When I was young, I had a dalmation, a founder ( found the dog), and a german shepherd. As I grew older, I did not keep a dog until some time in my adult life. I now have weenie dogs and LOVE them!
The Obama’s are going to have a fine time with a new dog. There is just nothing like a dog! The PEZ company came out with some Pez Fuzzy Friends. They sort of look like the “First Dog”! as a matter of fact! Anyhow, I’ve listed a few on RBAU for the dog and Pez lovers.(White House photo)

Lots of people are collectors of football, baseball and other trading cards. Today , I came across this pack of cards. Its new and would be enjoyable for someone. In the coming weeks I’ll be posting some different football books with cards, etc. Collectors will LOVE this stuff. I got them from an estate sale. I’ll keep you posted.

Its always fun when a country singer becomes actor. That was the case with George Strait. He made millions and millions on his records and then turned actor when he made the movie Pure Country . Pure Country is a neat little movie with a sweet tone to it and yes, he sings in the movie.

I’m pretty sure that it was on a Wednesday, that I met Mrs. Parks. I was at church downtown when someone told me Rosa Parks was at the Chamber of Commerce just a couple of blocks away. My children were in their Sunday School departments and so I dropped everything, picked up my cameras out of my car and rushed to see Mrs. Rosa Parks. Sure enough she was there for a nice gathering in her honor.

At the time, I had a broken arm from falling off the ladder while painting the house. It was awkward taking photos but I would not have missed this opportunity to photograph Mrs. Parks. I went in and was able to take many photographs of her. Also, I was able to talk with her. ‘Ended up , my arm cast became a big conversation with Mrs. Parks.

The signed books that I have by Mrs. Parks were NOT signed that day but rather I got them on a different date. These are signed by Mrs. Parks. They are now very rare.
